Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau wants to help
you plan a successful event. If you would like to host your next
meeting or convention here on the Cajun Coast, our
resources can help make your job easier.
We can:
Liaison with local officials
to secure letters of invitation and coordinate welcome for opening ceremonies.
Assist local and state organization leaders in presentation
of official bid.
Coordinate competitive proposals
from area facilities.
Coordinate facility site
inspections, area familiarization
tour and
appropriate facility profiles.
Assist in generating media
exposure through media contacts.
Provide a list of local sources
for supplies and services.
Facilitate with speakers,
attractions, restaurants, spouse programs, theme parties and childrens
activities.
Provide delegate name badges.
(Advance notice is required, minimum of 10 rooms booked)
Provide area promotional
literature and welcome bags for registration.
Make available color slides
for promotional literature.
Make every effort to accommodate
special requirements of your organization.

Traveling luncheon at several plantation
homes
At the first plantation home, enjoy mimosas and Bloody Marys. At the second
stop, enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch and at the third stop, have coffee
and dessert. Afterwards, enjoy a stroll down Franklins Main Street.
Tour of plantation homes
Sample the charming town of Franklin with over 400 noteworthy properties,
many listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Select from private
homes opened especially for you or public homes opened year round. Enjoy
lunch at one of the local restaurants or enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch
at one of the homes. Mix the plantation homes with a walking tour of the
historic district and shopping along Franklins Main Street.
Shop til you drop
Plan a shopping spree with several of our boutiques throughout the parish,
with merchants providing snacks at each shop. With advance notice, ask
boutique owners to offer demonstrations and/or clothing, jewelry or gift
trunk shows.
Morgan City Main Street
Begin the morning with a tour of Cypress Manor & Mardi
Gras Museum. Tour the gift shop, then walk over to Trinity Episcopal
Church for a brief tour of the church and an explanation of the stained
glass windows. Following Trinity, enjoy a walking tour of the downtown
historic area with local volunteer tour guides. Enjoy a light lunch
downtown at Café Jo Jo’s or have a catered meal with local entertainment
at the Old Elks Lodge. Following lunch, leisurely shop at the boutiques
located throughout the historic district.
Church tour
Stained glass and beautiful altars are prevalent throughout St. Mary Parishs
churches. Tour Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Trinity Episcopal Church,
Pharr Chapel Methodist, Church of the Assumption and/or St. Marys
Episcopal in Franklin.
Gaming
Try your luck at one of our premier casinos: The Amelia Belle and Cypress
Bayou Casino/ Shorty’s. The Amelia Belle is our first floating
casino on the Cajun Coast, complete with more than 800 slots and table
