Krewe de Mardi Gras
Morgan City has been celebrating Mardi Gras since the mid-1870s with the first formal pageant held in 1914. Now you can be a part of the fun and festivities of Mardi Gras with Krewe de Mardi Gras. With this special package, you and your group will be treated to
refreshments at Cypress Manor and Mardi Gras Museum where you’ll tour the home and learn a little about Mardi Gras. Upon arriving at the hotel of your choice, each member of your group will receive a personal invitation to the Krewe De Mardi Gras pageant. At 7 p.m., dinner will be served at the Holiday Inn banquet room or Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. Following dinner, the tableau will begin with visiting royalty from local krewes, revelers and selection of a new court from among your guests. After photographs are taken, dancing is optional.

“Nickname” Special at the International Petroleum Museum
Here on the Cajun Coast, given names are dropped and nicknames are put on everything from campaign signs to obituaries. Even some of our attractions have nicknames. And if you visit before 12/31/06, you'll get lagniappe (something extra) at the International Petroleum Museum in Morgan City: 2–for–1 admission, with a 4-person minimum, 8-person maximum.

The only catch? You've got to ask for the “nickname discount” and tell us your nickname.

The International Petroleum Museum is the only place in the world where the general public can walk aboard an authentic offshore drilling rig! For further info on the museum, visit www.rigmuseum.com.
