UNITY IN THE COMMUNITY BIKE RIDE - REGISTRATION FORM

The Unity in the Community Bike Ride a slow and easy bike ride from Greenwood and Second Street in Morgan City to Lake End Park. 

Route:  The route is approximately 3 miles, beginning at Second Street and Greenwood with line up under the bridge.  We will proceed down Second Street to Onstead, turning right onto Onstead Street. From Onstead Street, we will turn left onto Sixth Street. From Sixth Street, we will turn right onto Fig Street.  At Fig and Highway 70, we will cross into Lake End Park.

Registration:  There is no cost to participate but you must register.  To Register, go to https://www.cajuncoast.com/locals-0. The first 100 registrants will receive a t-shirt, so register early.

Check In:  Tables will be set up for outdoor check in and packet pick up.  Prepared event bags will be distributed according to groups to reduce the number of people needed at check-in.  Your group or team leader should pick up.

Overview: Line up will begin at 5 pm. Line-up will be staggered with 10 to 13 feet for social distancing from A to Z.  Bikers will be registered according to groups or pods with 10-15 ppl per pod or quarantine group.  When waiting or walking around, please wear masks and/or practice social distancing.

Kick off:  A police escort will begin the ride.  Start times will be staggered to insure social distancing throughout the event. Once group A is started, we will wait 3 minutes and allow group B to proceed.  The next group will kick off, then the next group, etc.  A support trailer will follow the group.

Riding:  Groups should practice social distancing.  This is a slow and easy event.

SAFETY: We ask all participants to practice bicycle safety.  Helmets for kids 12 and under are mandatory.  Helmets are recommended for all others.  Everyone is encouraged to have lights on their bikes.  Have fun and light up your bike with glow sticks or light up lights.  If you are planning to return home via your bicycle, front & back lights are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all bicycles.  Lights can be purchased at Tiger Island, Ace Hardware, Wal-Mart, locally.

Support Trailer:  We will have a support trailer following the ride to pick up any bicycles that break down. You will be responsible for getting to Lake End Park and for collecting your broken bike.

Lake End Park:  Deric Anslum will be entertaining us at Lake End Park.  Groups my set up tents, blankets, chairs with food and drinks prior to the ride, keeping social distancing in mind and may also leave a vehicle to return home with bicycles.  Food and drinks will NOT be available for sale at Lake End Park.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

In-person registration will not be available.

Check In and Packet Pick Up should be by the group leader.

Prepared event bags will be distributed

Hand sanitizer will be available

Bottled water will be available at end of ride.

Practice social distancing with six feet apart throughout the event.  When walking around, please wear masks.

Wear a mask or face covering in an outdoor public space wherever it is not feasible to maintain 6 feet of social distancing.
Masks are not required when riding.

Please stay home if you are feeling ill, experiencing symptoms, or having a fever.General:
Cajun Coast/Sponsors are not responsible once you leave Lake End Park.
Dancing is discouraged and should be done at your own risk.
